This and That

Spent the weekend with my little cousin at my dad's house
- Her little morning eyes - We had nachos - Minus 30 degrees over here (brrrrr!) - Photo at a local hardware store - Someone's Ipod got decked out (she talked about this bird for hours)

Loving the little things these days.

Sunday at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

This weekend was the last of the Museums exposition on Impressionist paintings from France. I was very excited and needless to say...not the least bit let down. It was amazing! There was work from all kinds Degas, Monet, Renoir and countless more. We felt very lucky to get to see these works first hand. While visiting we took some time to see a few of the permanent collections in the museum. I especially took great pleasure in the Art and Design's display of art put to a functional use. I should really visit the Museum more often, there was so much life and creativity in that place! Such a cliché but it really does stir up the imagination in my mind when I see all this extraordinary work.

Drawing: Tattoo

I have been working on a little piece for a friend of a friend. He is looking to get tattoo. This is not the style am I used to working with but it has been fun and challenging to try something new. I don't usually work with markers or cartoonish content. I have since grown a fondness for Sharpies and I am thinking of maybe trying out some new pieces of art with them! On another note, tonight I am going to see ''Once upon a time... Impressionism'' Great French paintings from the Clark. It is on show at the Musée des Beaux Arts here in Montreal till this Sunday and I am very excited to see it! I will post some shots next week from the visit.

Hope everyone is having a good week :)

2012 In Photos: or something like that

In looking back on the year, I can't help but feel extremely blessed. 2012 you were good to me. I finished college, signed the lease to my first apartment, my best friend had a beautiful baby boy, went to a wedding, spent some great time with family & friends and I ate great food! I always tend to look into the future... However it can be nice and humbling to look back every now & then.. and realize just how much love is all around me. It becomes easy to see mostly the negative things from day to day, but making a little collage like this made me go through the last 12 months in photographs and I saw so much good in there. I hope 2013 will be just as good for yourselves and for me!

Daily Routine and Apple Muffins

Things have been slowly calming down around here. Sometimes it takes a few weeks of here and there (holidays) to make you miss your old daily routine. I baked some apple cinnamon muffins yesterday and they were scrumptious. The guys devoured them! It always feels nice when I accomplish baking some sweets from scratch, seeing as I always though of myself as a cake-in-a-box kinda gal. On another note, I must say that the month of January does feel quite nice. The start to a new year always seems to fill me with hope. We have been having some oddly warm weather here this week and its nice to see some sunshine! I am starting to get a little nervous for my (very soon) application to University. I need to complete my portfolio and write a strong letter of intent for the school. Here is to being productive and applying my own advice - taking it one day at a time.

Resolutions: Or something like that

Every year I make a list of resolutions. Things I would like to accomplish or learn... you know?! The usual. I like to think of myself as someone who is adventurous in trying new things and accomplishing goals. However there is always a feeling as though I could be doing more. I am a tad bit on the lazy side and sometimes that gets to me. I wish I was not this way but it is in my nature, I have learned to curve it. Projects get done, they may just take a little longer then expected. All this to say, 2013 will be resolution free. It's not that there is nothing I need to work on. There is, trust me. I would love to quit smoking (I know, it's a gross habit), I want to learn how to sew, knit, I want to practice yoga and drink more water everyday. I have made a pack with myself, that this year I will simply try new things and keep working on life one day at a time. I am removing the pressure and hoping that this year will be blessed with all kinds of little wonders, spontaneous adventures and lots of love here in my tiny burrow!

Happy 2013, I wish each and everyone one of you all greatness and giggles there are in this world.

Holidays: What did you do this New Years?

What did you guys do New Years? I went over to my friends apartment and we made super! It was a really nice evening. I photographed a little bit of her place, it was all decorated for the holidays and it all looked so cozy. We played a drinking game and the board game "Things"! Have you ever played? It is really funny and entertaining. Hope you all had a great New Year!

Christmas Eve

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I spent it here and there with family and friends. Over the years, the holidays have begun to feel different. Does anyone else feel the same? It's not a bad thing, it just doesn't feel the same. They seem to fly by so quickly and tend to be a tad more on the stressful side. I long for the days when all I had to worry about was which pj's to bring over to my grand-parents house. Nonetheless I had a wonderful week and my belly is full of delicious food. I am a happy girl.

p.s The second picture is of my grand-father and I on christmas eve in 93'. He  is amazing.
