This and That

Hi! I hope everyone was spoiled and well fed this holiday season. I am a lucky girl to say I was. I am going to start a weekly post called This and That, I always seem to have left over photographs that never make it out of my library. This will be a post dedicated to those random photos. I will write a short insert for each photo, an explanation of sorts. And so from top to bottom; new girlie items, Lucy fixating, new makeup bag, nerd glasses, driving over the Champlain.

P.S Can you believe it's already the end of December...and christmas is over? I don't even know where the days go!

DIY POST: My Own Mug

I found this project a few months back over on A Beautiful Mess and always thought it was a nice DIY. A friend tried it and said it was a great little gift to give! As christmas is right around the corner I thought it would be a sweet little gift for family. I decided to make some with a doodle of the persons animal! It was really simple! I used sharpie markers to make the design and then I put them in the oven for 30 minutes on 350 degrees and VOILA! I will be making these more often, they make great gifts!

Happy Holidays!

Lazy Days: Holidays

Today is a lazy day. The holidays are in full swing and I can't wait to celebrate with friends and family. I have so many last minute things to do before christmas eve, this weekend is going to be so busy! I hope everyone is enjoying  their holidays whatever it is you are doing this upcoming week :) This is a picture of my cat Jazz who loves to cuddle on top of warm laundry out of the machine! She melts my heart.

DIY POST: Beer Caps

I saw these beer cap magnets at a flea-market once and thought I would try to re-create them. I used cleaned out beer caps, paper, sharpies, magnets and mod podge! I stuck the magnets on the backs of the beer caps ( I got a roll of magnets for 1$ and the dollar store). For the insides, I used a nickel to trace out circle of white paper and then I drew little doodles on them. You could customize them anyway you like! I glued the paper to the beer caps with a thin layer of mod podge that covered the paper drawings! It drew over a couple of hours and voila! I got to stick them on the fridge :) Super fun and easy project!

P.S I want to try and print out some tiny old photographs of family and try this project with those!

These are my favorite holiday cookies! They are plain and simple, no glitz or glam. However, they are delicious. And I bet you can't have just one ;) I love short bread, and I got the idea of making them ''bite size" from a friends mother (she makes the best ones in the world, in my opinion ha!) . You can use your favorite Short Bread or Sugar cookie recipe and just make 1' balls and flatten them slightly with a fork!

Hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season :)
& may the week leading up to christmas be very, very merry.

Hello to you! Yes you, whomever is reading this... assuming somebody is? Do you ever feel the need to get away from everything? Well this past weekend my man and I left our little apartment and decided to spend the night in a beautiful (and oh so clean!) little hotel up in Mont-Tremblant, QC. We took a weekend getaway. It was only about 2 hours away from home but far enough to make us feel like we were in a whole other province. To be honest it was the first time we went away together (it's almost been three years, it was about time Ha!) and it was really nice. I loved the little huts and shops around the village. We saw a deer and her babies, which is nothing out of the ordinary but it was the first time I had seen a deer so close and it was magical! I am definitely contemplating the idea of making this a tradition... some time away from home is nice every now and then!
